Beam Jumps 40% to Lead a Falling Crypto Market

By MABOnChain Desk · Published · Updated · 5 min read

Editorial digital-art illustration in the CoinTelegraph style: a glowing green gaming token rocketing upward on a steep candlestick chart while red falling charts for Bitcoin and other large coins sink in the background, a futuristic gaming world with a neon game controller and voxel game characters on a luminous blockchain network grid below, silhouetted traders watching the outlier surge on a huge screen, deep navy night palette with green and gold highlights, cinematic painterly lighting, dramatic 16:9 composition, no text, no logos, no identifiable person.

Published October 30, 2026, 09:55 PM PKT. Based on CoinGecko trending and markets data for October 30, 2026 (primary source for price, volume, market capitalisation and trending rank), Dextape's October 30, 2026 market report, TokenPost's October 30, 2026 trending snapshot, WalletInvestor's October 30, 2026 Beam analysis, CoinDataFlow's October 30, 2026 Beam market data, BitScreener's October 30, 2026 gainers board, and background from The Block's Beam price page and Kraken's October 1, 2026 BEAM risk disclosure (secondary sources). Figures in this article come from different snapshots during October 30, so small differences between them reflect the time each source captured, not disagreement about the direction of the move. This is the first MABOnChain standalone article on Beam's October 30 surge, and it is distinct from the October 28 article on Pepe's whale-linked jump and the October 29 article on Zcash's grants-stream rally.

Beam (BEAM) was the day's outlier in a market that fell almost everywhere else. CoinGecko data captured at 16:51 UTC on October 30, 2026 put BEAM at $0.00483, up 39.8% over 24 hours, with a 24 hour range of $0.00322 to $0.00529 and $184.7 million in trading volume, taking its market capitalisation to $243.6 million at rank 149. Dextape's October 30 market report, using figures as of 13:15 UTC, called Beam the biggest gainer among the 200 largest assets at plus 38.9%, on a day total crypto market capitalisation fell 5.7% to $2.62 trillion and Bitcoin slipped to $77,266, down 3.5%. CoinGecko's own trending list for October 30 placed Beam among the most searched coins of the day, and later snapshots pushed the gain higher: WalletInvestor recorded a 47.7% daily rise at $0.005047 on $94.42 million of volume, CoinDataFlow recorded $0.005071, up 48.6%, at 15:02 UTC, and BitScreener's gainers board showed BEAM at $0.005044, up 47.65%, with $101.13 million in 24 hour volume. Readers should read those numbers as one fast-moving rally captured at different hours, not as conflicting reports. Every source agrees on the shape of the day: a roughly 40% to 48% surge, heavy volume, and a token moving sharply against a falling market.

The outlier: up 40% while Bitcoin fell

The contrast with the rest of the market is what makes the move notable. CoinGecko's trending snapshot for October 30 showed Bitcoin down 4.8% at $77,399, BNB down 6.6%, NEAR Protocol down 6.4%, Sui down 5.7%, Pepe down 3.6%, and the day's other trending names mostly in the red, with Pearl down 16.3%, Backpack down 11.8%, Pump.fun down 11.1% and Ethena down 11.2%. Beam, up 41.7% on CoinGecko's trending feed at the time of that snapshot, was the only trending coin with a large gain, and Dextape's report confirms it led all of the top 200 assets, ahead of Quack AI at plus 15.2% and Kinetiq at plus 14.3%. A single-day gain of that size, on volume above $184 million, is not a thin-market wobble. CoinGecko's volume figure alone is close to three quarters of Beam's market capitalisation changing hands in a day, and BitScreener's later $101 million to $103 million volume readings point the same way. That combination, a top gainer rank, a gain several times larger than the next name, and volume in the hundreds of millions, is why Beam leads this trending-coin report rather than any of the day's many falling names.

Where the trading happened: Korea and Upbit

The trading interest was concentrated in Korea, and Upbit was the single largest venue. TokenPost's October 30 trending snapshot ranked Beam fifth globally among most-viewed tokens at $0.004664, up 38.4%, and second in Korea at $0.004710, up 39.9%, behind only Blur, with Bitcoin fourth in Korea. CoinDataFlow's market breakdown at 15:02 UTC put Upbit's BEAM/KRW pair first at $0.005096 with $55.73 million in volume, about 32.4% of the total, followed by Binance's BEAM/USDT pair at $0.005064 with $25.96 million, about 15.1%. Korean retail interest has repeatedly driven sharp moves in gaming and mid-cap tokens, and the TokenPost snapshot shows that pattern again here: Beam ranked higher with Korean viewers than with global viewers, and the largest single pool of trading sat on a Korean exchange. That does not by itself explain why buyers arrived on October 30, and this article does not claim a Korean-specific catalyst, because none was identified in the coverage reviewed. What the venue data does establish is where the move was traded, and it gives readers a place to watch: if the rally fades, it will likely fade first in the same Korean order books that led it.

A recovery from June lows, still far below the peak

The day's surge extends a longer recovery, and the longer view keeps it in proportion. CoinGecko put BEAM up 54.5% over seven days and 145.9% over 30 days at the 16:51 UTC snapshot, and WalletInvestor's analysis, using a 52 period window, put the 30 day gain at 63.2% and the 90 day gain at 134.0% from a low base, with the 52 period low at $0.001278. CoinGecko's all-time figures tell the same story from the other side: the all-time high is $0.04416, set on March 10, 2024, leaving BEAM about 89.1% below that peak, while the all-time low is $0.00121, set on June 25, 2026, leaving the token about 298% above that low. WalletInvestor's technical read adds texture without changing the picture: the token sits 9.48% above its 20 period average, 37.76% above its 50 period average and 83.42% above its 200 period average, a golden cross has been in effect for 26 periods, and the 14 period RSI reads 64.3, which WalletInvestor describes as strength without reaching the extreme readings that usually come right before exhaustion. The 52 period high of $0.009394 is the next level that would change the yearly picture, requiring a further rise of about 86% from the WalletInvestor snapshot price, according to that analysis. In plain terms, Beam has roughly quadrupled from its June low and is still worth roughly a tenth of its 2024 peak. A 40% day inside that shape is a sharp leg of a recovery, not a return to the old highs.

What Beam is, and what this rally does not prove

Beam is the native token of the Beam network, a gaming-focused blockchain incubated by the Merit Circle DAO, according to The Block's Beam price page, and Kraken's October 1, 2026 risk disclosure describes it as the network's gas asset with validation and governance roles, running as an Avalanche subnet with delegated proof of stake since May 2024. The ecosystem includes a marketplace called Sphere, a decentralised trading protocol called BeamSwap and cross-chain tooling via Beam Bridge, according to the same disclosure, and the token exists natively on the subnet and as bridged representations on Ethereum and BNB Chain. The circulating supply is about 50.3 billion BEAM out of a maximum of about 57.5 billion, according to CoinGecko, so most of the eventual supply is already in circulation. None of that background, on its own, explains October 30. No new Beam announcement, listing, upgrade or partnership was identified in the coverage reviewed for this article, and readers should be sceptical of any post that invents one. The honest account is that a heavily traded gaming token, already up strongly over the past month, spiked about 40% on a day the wider market fell, with Korean trading leading, and that the move has so far been a price and volume event rather than a news event. That distinction matters for what happens next. Rallies without a catalyst can reverse as fast as they start, and the levels to watch are concrete: the day's high near $0.00529, the 52 period high at $0.009394 above, and the $0.00322 area of the day's low below. Until a catalyst emerges or the price holds above the day's range on continued volume, the rally is best read as momentum and regional trading interest, not as a verdict on the Beam network itself.

Binance Teng Confirms EIP-7702 Role in $6.3B Hack, Targets Sunday Withdrawals and Monday Reserves

October 30, 2026 · 5 min read

Binance co-chief executive Richard Teng said in a video on October 30, 2026 that the attacker in the estimated $6.3 billion hack used Ethereum's EIP-7702 authorization mechanism to obtain on-chain execution approval over a Binance hot wallet, bypassing the exchange's normal approval controls, and that a self-destruct mechanism removed some of the attacker's tools and traces. Teng said Binance aims to resume withdrawals within about 40 hours before a Sunday deadline and publish a full proof of reserves report on Monday, with preliminary data available earlier. Binance has still not established the full attack path, has not said how the attacker obtained the authorization, and has not attributed the attack to any individual or group.

Binance Reserves $6.34B to Cover Hack Losses, Buys Back Stolen Altcoins

October 30, 2026 · 5 min read

Binance said on October 30, 2026 it has reserved more than $6.34 billion in company funds to cover losses from the estimated $6.3 billion hack, with $5 billion already held in the affected tokens, and that it is buying the remaining stolen altcoins in fully matching amounts through over-the-counter deals and on-exchange trades so it can complete updated proof of reserves. The reserve excludes the roughly $3 billion in assets already frozen on-chain, and Binance warned some purchases could take longer for low-liquidity tokens. Binance has given no timetable for completing the purchases or publishing the updated proof of reserves.

Binance Finds Additional Breach Points in $6.3B Hack

October 30, 2026 · 5 min read

Binance said on October 30, 2026 that its investigation into the estimated $6.3 billion hack has uncovered additional points of breach beyond the compromised DevOps engineer's laptop first cited as a possible entry point, describing a complex attack that was not a single one-click action. Binance said it remains on track to resume withdrawals in about 45 hours with deposits operating normally, about $3 billion frozen on-chain, all losses covered from its SAFU fund and company funds, and a detailed post-mortem and updated proof of reserves to come. Binance has not said what the additional breach points are, and it has not attributed the attack to any individual or group.

Binance Expects to Begin Resuming Withdrawals Within 48 Hours

October 30, 2026 · 5 min read

Binance co-chief executive Yi He said in a service update on October 30, 2026 that Binance expects to begin resuming withdrawal services within 48 hours, while deposits remain unaffected and continue to operate normally. It is the first reopening timeline since Binance halted withdrawals after the estimated $6.3 billion hack on October 29, and it follows CoinDesk reporting that institutional investors are rushing to pull crypto from centralized exchanges, precautionary freezes in DeFi lending markets, and withdrawal alerts from South Korean exchanges. Binance has given no schedule by network or asset, and full restoration is not promised within the 48 hours.
